man, i haven't been here in a while. so much has happened, but i'm only going to blog the most important. that being that we've been having this beach boys class (in our house, with just me and grant). anyway, we just read about them and listen to their music.

anyway, smile was just released, and if you're not in the know, it's the biggest unreleased album in music history. so we got it, and it fucking rocks. we also went to see brian wilson in chicago. i was stupid and thought i couldn't record through the minidisc player (long story).

they opened with a little unplugged set with songs like "surfer girl" and "hawai'i" and those type o' deals. then the first part of the main set they opened up with "sloop john b." it was pretty much all the songs from the classic beach boys. they also played "wouldn't it be nice" and "god only knows." it was fucking awesome.

after intermission they played the entire smile album.


they came back for an encore which they played all the surf rawk songs like "i get around," "fun, fun, fun," "surfin' usa," and those deals and everyone in the place was dancing around. i would go more in depth about it, but if you ask me, i'll tell you.
