jukebox: nine inch nails - "get down make love"
really stoked on my recent vinyl purchases:
the jam - snap!
nine inch nails - sin
jane's addiction - ritual de lo habitual
all in excellent condition.
so friday night was the 7" release party for our roommate's band, the marriannes, which also happens to be jeff's record label's first release. show was quite the success. the first band wasn't that great... complete bright eyes rip off... down to the clothes and hair style. the marrianes ruled. simon joyner put me to sleep.
currently i've been reading this, though it's not that cover (thank god!). it's really great. it's like a complete pop music history and events leading up to the punk movement in the '70s. i thought that i wouldn't like the beginning part of the book, because it had a lot to do with malcolm maclaren. though it turns out that his idiotness comes in handy with making this book so great.
today is no way out. really want to order it, but don't want to spend that much money on it. hopefully, i'll find it online. really looking forward to see austin. at least after tonight austin will have appeared, and we'll see him on raw a lot...
jeff hardy vs. jericho is also going to be great. not sure how i feel about the rock vs. hogan, though. rock was pretty good this past smackdown!, though some stuff came off not too good.

picturebox: pulp fiction
vincent just got shot...
kai, i can't say much for oregon, but omaha's fun. we've got, uh... a good happy hour down the street.
predictions for tonight's raw:
at the end of the episode, bischoff will have failed to sign austin. vince will call out bischoff and val to the ring to fire them... but just when you think it's over, *crash* (sound of a bottle breaking) austin's music hits the arena (staples center, where i should be), the crowd goes ballistic, and austin does his thing to the crowd. then he'll walk over to bischoff or mcmahon (in no particular order) and stare at them. one thing leads to another, also in no particular order, vince and bischoff gets stunned... austin calls for beers, and we all live happily ever after.
kai, if you come down here also, you'd have access to the best record store.

shit, i'm not sure if i'd rather move to portland or omaha. give me reasons dudes. tell me why one place is better than the other. it would probably be better if i could take trips to both places and compare... but you know, a visit isn't the same as living there.

jukebox: smiths - "bigmouth strikes again"
i am one unemployed mofo. it's cool for now, though, because i still have some $$$s, but i need to get some work soon before next month's bills. so i got this bill from a collection agency for the amount of $538 from the superior court of los angeles. apparently, it was regarding my "fix-it ticket" for no front license plate that i got in september. the ticket needed to be paid off by november 14th, or some court appearance or something. anyway, i got that taken care of back then and sent the signed ticket along with a check of $10 for the processing fee.
so it seems as if the check was never received by them and is now "my responsibility." i got pretty upset with that collection guy (that's in his job description, so don't feel bad for him). i just explained how ridiculous it is that through no fault of my own, but the court's own negligence, that i'm now being held accountable for that. he told me to call my bank and check on that check. so i go to my bank's site and log in.
this account, last i checked, had about two dollars in it, but i opened an account up here and never paid no attention to that los angeles account. so to my surprise, my account is thirty-something dollars overdrawn. i checked the transaction history and find out that the check for that fucking "fix-it ticket" just got cashed on the 24th of january. so now that brought me under balance, and then the $20 overdrawn fee, hence, the fucking court assholes screwed me twice.
luckily for me i keep copies of all things i do with companies or agencies--especially government agencies, which can't seem to stop fucking me over--and i found a copy of the "signed" fix-it ticket. i logged online to their stupid page to check that out, and it seems to be all taken care of. so now i'm trying to get ahold of those fools, just to get a verbal confirmation on this shite.
uh, it snowed again, and we saw a car try for about ten minutes to try and reverse out a space at the intersection out front. tires were spinning and they couldn't make it up the incline to reverse out. finally, after much attempts, they realized, "hey, we're on a slope, why don't we just roll forward."
